Positive Choices, Powerful Lives Virtual Event
Alternatives For Girls (AFG) is a Detroit-based nonprofit serving homeless and high-risk girls and young women. Since 1987, AFG has provided safe shelter, street outreach and educational support, vocational guidance, mentoring, prevention activities, and counseling. As AFG prepared for their annual fundraising event in the fall of 2020, they worried about the safety of their community during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the financial health of their organization. The annual ask event traditionally raises a signficant portion of the org’s operating budget and the potential gap could be devestating. AFG hired Three Lyons Creative to livestream the event and invited their community to participate virtually. Three Lyons utilized a mix of pre-recorded interviews and live filming to create a full and engaging ask event. The event raised over $24,000 during the livestream and donations continued to come in through the night. The virtual event was a huge success and Three Lyons Creative was asked back to livestream the event in 2021.
