Sophilabs

Our collaboration with Sophilabs involved the development and optimization of two mobile-friendly web applications, catering to both students and counselors. Our initial design was integrated with the backend assistance from another contractor, but Sophilabs stepped in to redevelop the backend using Django. They also implemented various features such as an administrative function, OCR technology for document translation, and a classifier library. The app includes a sign-up/sign-in system, profile creation, and a college search engine with detailed information. Students can upload financial aid documents, which are translated in the backend and shared with counselors for further assistance. Sophilabs handled QA and continues to provide maintenance and feature updates.

Sophilabs displayed excellent communication, flexibility, and adherence to deadlines and budget constraints. Their team of quality engineers and clear processes ensured a smooth collaboration. They were able to adapt to our project needs and provide the right resources, leading to the formation of a well-suited team. The ability to maintain resources dedicated to our project despite other client demands was commendable.

The onboarding process took longer than expected, and there were some challenges regarding documentation and communication of security protocols. While we trust Sophilabs and their work, having more standardized protocols and documentation processes would enhance business engagement.

I engaged with this company to handle all aspects of software development for our team, including front-end and back-end development, system administration, and infrastructure design. Their team typically consisted of two staff engineers and a manager at a time.

I am not aware of any areas for improvement or things the partner could have done better or differently.

We provided designs in Figma and collaborated to create a storyboard, determine features, and develop the front- and backend of an iOS app. The app features a Firebase algorithm to track user sessions and hours, an admin website for real-time changes, and a five-star rating system for user feedback. The app was originally in English but was later translated into Arabic. Ongoing maintenance support is provided, with plans for an Android version in the future.

Sophilabs implemented our designs perfectly, resulting in a well-functioning platform with seamless UX. They were quick to respond to feedback, accommodating change requests promptly. The team is attentive and focused on product quality and user experience.

Our engagement with Sophilabs has been entirely positive, and we have no negative feedback to provide.

I have been working closely with Sophilabs to enhance our software development capabilities and augment our team for DataOps solutions.
