7-Eleven is a national chain of convenience stores. They approached us to give their prepaid debit cards a brand refresh with the aim of targeting a younger demographic and overcoming the stigma associated with the product.Our brand refresh led to a 63% increase in purchase intent, and 18% improvement in perceived SKU differentiation, meaning lower purchase friction and better sales.
We were given the opportunity to reimagine and redesign the world’s most famous battery packaging. It needed to have a purpose, brand blocking on the shelf, and impact on the computer screen to stand out in a sea of noisy options.
Paired with grocery shopping data showing guacaole frequently paired with other items consumers commonly take to social gatherings, we explored a few radical new designs along with safe updates. Our integrated simulated buying experience testing helped Yucatan reduce risk and gain confidence that this new design was a winner and would not confuse or alienate existing and long established customers and brand equity.These designs can be found at a grocery store near you, for a fun and flavorful addition to your next backyard BBQ.
We worked with PayPal to leverage existing insights combined with direct feature sets of PayPal that are not communicated in retail today. We used these opportunities to inform a strategic retail and packaging strategy that is launching soon.
