Bespoke business intelligence for Hyundai Capital

Visarc was commissioned to design and develop a bespoke business intelligence platform to support the work of Hyundai Capital’s business development managers (BDMs) with the automotive retailer networks of Hyundai and Kia.ChallengeHyundai Capitals UK’s BDMs work closely with their dealer partners to deliver against specific business KPIs, such as number of proposals accepted, funded cases and new car finance penetration rate. Beyond performance reporting, the team at Hyundai Capital wanted to extend the remit of their previous solution to include bulletins, compliance management and top line usage data for the e-learning solution also built by Visarc.ApproachBuilt with a deep integration with Microsoft Power BI, The HUB is a secure web-based business intelligence platform for BDMs that lets Hyundai Capital UK view dealer data from multiple sources. Each BDM within the company is responsible for multiple automotive dealers for Kia or Hyundai brands. Data is pulled daily into The HUB’s data warehouse via a combination of APIs, direct database connections and flat files, providing the BDMs with up-to-date insights on how their partners are performing.   Data is available at retailer, territory, brand, and national level to BDMs and the head office team, who can interrogate and dissect the data at will.  ResultsThe HUB takes a large amount of sales performance data from multiple sources and brings it together in one place using an intuitive, on-brand user interface that makes significant use of charts and other visual elements to more effectively present analysis of performance data.  The HUB now serves a network of 362 car retailers, 50 internal staff and 16 BDMs and has become the key business intelligence solution across the business enabling BDMs to work more efficiently than ever before with their car retail partners.

Bespoke e-learning system supports compliance

Visarc was commissioned to design and develop an e-learning platform to support the company’s business development managers (BDMs) with the automotive retailer networks of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis. Hyundai Capital UK is a joint venture between Santander Consumer UK and Hyundai Capital Services Korea.ChallengeHyundai Capital UK needed a learning management solution that could deliver engaging bespoke training materials that could be completed by dealers on a self-learning basis. The solution would also need to test the dealers understanding of those materials, update them on new training content and notify them when they needed to refresh their training to ensure that dealer knowledge is fully up to date.ApproachThe project kicked off with two main areas of focus, firstly defining the creative style of the training materials and the best way to deliver often complex and detailed topics. Secondly, identifying the requirements of the platform itself, ensuring we could deliver against Hyundai Capital UK’s specific objectives.For the materials, it was decided that bite-sized training animations were the best way to deliver the content. This was supported by on page downloads for additional learning. The platform was then created to support video content with users having to watch the videos before being able to take online tests. The platform allows tests to be set-up with multiple types of questions along with a defined pass mark. Users get instant pass/fail results with help and guidance on any areas where answers are incorrect. Additionally, BDMs get notifications of any user that has locked a topic, giving them the ability to unlock the content and speak to the salesperson about extra support with the subject. Results90% of the combined Hyundai and Kia dealer networks have signed up, equating to almost 1,500 registered users. The solution has been well received by dealerships and supported by the BDMs at Hyundai Capital UK’s head office.

Loveashford rebrand and move to Umbraco CMS

Ashford Borough Council has been at the forefront of a national drive to reinvigorate the UK’s town centres for a decade. The local authority has championed flexible planning policy, partnerships with the private sector and most importantly embracing digital channels to more efficiently serve businesses and residents.  ChallengeThe team at Ashford Borough Council felt that the original version of the website lacked character and did not truly represent the creative and dynamic local community. Beyond the brand itself, the team were finding it a challenge to manage the old website. It lacked an easy-to-use page builder and bespoke components designed for each section of the website. This made it difficult to differentiate content types such as offers and businesses, whilst also making it challenging to maintain consistency.  ApproachThe project kicked off with a brand development workshop reviewing audience profiles, local statistics and qualitative research. Various routes were developed with the client eventually selecting a bold Pop Art influenced design intended to work across both digital and offline channels.In order to add value as a local destination website, it is key that the directory section is kept up to date and lists all local businesses. The developers in our digital team solved this issue by setting up a regular automated synchronisation between the Loveashford website and the Google Places API, keeping things up to date effortlessly.ResultsThe all new Loveashford website went live towards the end of 2021, with the rebrand being extremely well received both internally and externally. From a technical SEO perspective, despite the website featuring more animations and graphic elements, it is now scoring significantly better across performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO measures reported by Google PageSpeed Insights - up 13 points on average.

Maserati targets SUV drivers with DOOH Campaign

The Maserati brand has long been associated with dynamic grand tourers such as the Ghibli and high-performance saloons like the Quarttroporte. However, with performance saloon car sales giving way to super-SUVs like the Mercedes-AMG G63 and the BMW X5 M, the team at Maserati knew that it needed to develop its own SUV to remain relevant and maximise growth opportunities. In the run up to the launch of Levante, Visarc collaborated closely with Maserati to ensure the campaign promoting the brands first SUV made a real impact. ChallengeThe campaign objective was to raise awareness of the Maserati Levante and to target the likes of the BMW X5, and Mercedes ML/GLE. Research showed that many UK consumers believed that Maserati priced its models at more than six-figures, which whilst certainly being true for the high-performance variants such as Trofeo, it is not true for the range in general. Positioning the Maserati Levante against its BMW and Mercedes competitors would establish a better understanding of the Maserati Levante’s real position and attainability. ApproachAs part of a highly targeted OOH campaign, Visarc and Maserati leveraged vehicle recognition technology at Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) locations such as Holland Park. The DOOH part the campaign targeted drivers of select competitor vehicles with real-time personalised messages. Licence plate recognition cameras identified competitor vehicles as they approached a selected location. In real-time, brand and model specific data was looked up and used in messages displayed to drivers of specific vehicle models. ResultsThe campaign saw outdoor media placement using high impact sites in major cities across the UK. This included 14 days using Vehicle Recognition Panels in Holland Park, London, and Princess Road, Manchester.
