Established in 1947, GEMA represents over 80,000 composers, lyricists, and music publishers worldwide. In 2022, the company’s revenues totaled EUR 1.178 billion.ChallengeGlobal social media, music and video platforms such as Instagram, Spotify and YouTube have given niche artists the chance to be heard by millions of people, and have made some of them stars practically overnight. The challenge for performance and music rights organizations such as GEMA is to identify and sign these young talents before they make it big - and before other eager competitors take them on. But how do you scout millions of niche artists and identify the most promising newcomers without having to dedicate endless resources? This is the challenge GEMA approached Boldheart with, asking us to develop a data-driven platform for music labels, scouts and producers to explore, communicate with and manage suitable music artists - in only two months.SolutionMVP Scoping: GEMA and Boldheart refined feature ideas and scope in a workshop, prioritizing core features and setting up a 6-sprint development plan.UI/UX Design & MVP Development: Boldheart designed, tested, and integrated the platform for an excellent user experience, while simultaneously working on the backend integration.Go-To-Market Strategy: Boldheart prepared the launch, established KPIs, and captured users before the Reeperbahn festival. The platform gained X-thousand subscribers and streamlined artist scouting for GEMA.User Testing & Scaling: Boldheart continued supporting GEMA with user testing and MVP optimization. We’re now exploring scaling and a potential standalone venture for ArtistMatch.

ChallengeIn the face of changing consumer demands during the Covid 19 pandemic and the related rise of well-funded quick-commerce startups such as Gorillas and Flink, Valora Digital faced the challenge of digitalizing the business model, store format, and delivery models of Valora AG to help the company remain competitive. Determined to become an early player in Switzerland to pilot a quick-commerce model, Valora Digital decided to partner up with Boldheart.SolutionTo shape Valora’s quick commerce strategy, Boldheart initially collaborated with the Valora Digital team to analyze key success factors in a workshop. They then worked together to develop strategies for the business model’s key pillars. They also established best practices for micro-fulfillment center operations, emphasizing the importance of balancing customer needs with space constraints, picking efficiency, and replenishment processes. Next, Boldheart outlined the requirements for the entire software ecosystem, including customer-facing and internal solutions for stock management, order processing, and delivery. They met a tight 3-month deadline by organizing work into 10-day sprints, resulting in rapid software development and testing.
