Project Description

Abbey International Finance Ltd is a privately-owned financial services company based in Dublin providing niche financial solutions to a variety of business sectors. The group has three divisions specialising in leasing, private equity and insurance. The logo is designed to represent the Earth in mid‑summer rising above an imaginary horizon, evocative of the images of earthrise taken during NASA’s Apollo moon landings. This symbolises the company’s global reach and the concept of new beginnings made possible through the services the company provides, including finance. As a company’s brand is one of their most valuable assets, brand guidelines were produced to accompany the logo design to ensure quality is maintained. Rules on logo size and positioning, brand colours and typography are detailed to ensure all elements are used correctly and consistently across various media, no matter which supplier, agency or printer is involved.Alongside the design of the logo and stationery suite, the company’s website and a brochure celebrating their 25th anniversary were designed.

Nest Furniture Design Logo and Stationery Suite

Nest is an award-winning, family-owned furniture design company which crafts commissioned one‑off and limited edition signature furniture pieces drawing inspiration from classic automotive design and haute couture. Originating from Middlton, County Cork and now based in the south west of France, their pieces are known for the clarity of their lines and seamless profiles. The logo design draws inspiration from the clean lines, elegant curves and precision of the company’s finely-crafted furniture and the solid timber used for many of their pieces. Here, a simplified profile of a bird’s-nest sits effortlessly balanced on the end of the bough of a tree stretching out from above the company name. The company name itself appears in understated lower case in a font which echoes the clean lines and elegant curves. The red of the logotype hints at the strength of the material while the complementary warm gray of the bird’s-nest and bough is used to suggest elegance.
