Project Description

ME Bank is a prominent Australian bank that has carved its niche in the financial industry by offering an online-only experience to its customers. As a bank with no physical branches, ME relies on its website to be a one-stop shop. However, ME’s subpar mobile browsing experience prevented it from effectively acquiring and servicing customers.Facing this challenge, ME set out to redevelop its site, with three goals in mind. These included creating a responsive experience, offering a platform where customers can easily find information and choosing a future-proof CMS that caters to personalisation and allows for easy content editing.ME partnered with Kiandra to develop a fully responsive digital experience, in line with the bank’s technologically savvy reputation. Using a collaborative approach, Kiandra delivered a high-value, business-critical solution quickly and effectively with less risk.Using Kentico CMS, Kiandra developed a new site that schedules and updates ME’s rates automatically, replacing the previous manual process. The site also now offers an enhanced search function that adds autocomplete, faceted search, featured results and spelling corrections. Additionally, ME’s site now surfaces content in feeds to present relevant content to customers.Shortly after the launch of the new site, the search function usage increased 147%, with visitors staying longer on the site and visiting more pages. There was also improved engagement among both desktop and mobile users, and an incredible 358% increase in website calculator usage. In March 2018, the new ME site was named the Kentico Financial Services Site of the Year — an international award that seeks out the best Kentico implementations.Scott Dare, the Web & Content Channel Manager at ME Bank was delighted with Kiandra’s dedication to delivering excellence, saying “We were confident that they had the technical capability to successfully deliver our new site on time.”

An online payment system for government

Implemented in 1998, the Medical Accounts Assessment System (MAAS) is used to assess, process and verify invoices for Contracted Medical Practitioners (CMPs) who provide fee-for-services in WA public hospitals. The original system, previously hosted by the Department of Human Services, was scheduled for decommissioning by the Australian Government by 30 June 2019.WA Health required the re-development of this complex invoice verification platform to meet the existing functionality of the MAAS system. With no ability to extend the deadline, WA Health needed a business-critical solution, fast, and turned to Kiandra. The solution needed to integrate with the existing WA Health Patient Administration System (WebPAS) and the Payment System (Oracle Fusion) to meet full system requirements. The original process saw staff enter CMP invoices manually into the system for assessment. Kiandra proposed a solution that would streamline the process via a new and optimised portal, provide a flexible rules engine to assess and verify the CMP invoices and then integrate with the payments system to facilitate payments. The solution modernised MAAS functionality, offering an optimised portal for managing invoices. It features flexible rules engine management, CMP contract handling, and storage of patient encounter data. It also provides comprehensive reporting capabilities and ensures data integrity through regular updates.Kiandra and WA Health successfully hit the deadline and launched a replacement MAAS on 1 July. They were able to develop the new MAAS in just five months by leveraging the latest in low-code technology with partner OutSystems. As a reflection of their commitment to success, Kiandra was awarded the 2019 OutSystems Innovation Award for their work on MAAS. HSS Chief Information Officer Holger Kaufmann was delighted with the outcome saying “HSS is now at the forefront of application innovation and in a position to continue improving.”

A revolutionary online job platform

By the beginning of 2022, the rate of people with disability in paid employment across Australia, had not changed in almost 30 years. This highlighted the necessity for a job platform that provided more opportunities for people with disability to find meaningful roles and careers. To meet this challenge, Get Skilled Access and the Field sought out a committed software development partner who could work to tight deadlines, and embrace the vision of a dynamic, engaging and fully accessible jobs platform.Kiandra more than met the criteria, collaborating with new ideas and a drive for success that meant the Field job site could be engaging as well as accessible. The solution was to produce a fully accessible job site designed by and for people with disability, with the purpose of matching people with disability with jobs from inclusive employers. The site needed to be fully WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliant and withstand rigorous accessibility testing from subject matter experts. It also needed to be optimised for screen readers and other assistance devices. In late 2022, Kiandra, Get Skilled Access and the Field launched the Field.jobs. A revolutionary site that simplifies the disability-inclusive employment process for both candidates and employers whilst disrupting traditional hiring practices to break down barriers to actively connect people with disability wanting to work, with employers wanting to hire inclusively.Selina Pickard, General Manager of the Field, said “We wanted to create a job site that was more than simply connecting candidates with employers. We wanted a site that would positively disrupt the employment landscape, prioritise accessibility and innovation."In late 2023, Kiandra won a CRN Australia Impact Award in the Customer Experience category for its work on the Field.jobs, a reflection of Kiandra’s dedication to excellence. Selina said “We knew that everyone at Kiandra was as invested as the Field team in ensuring the solution was a success.”
