Summary: Traditional spatial surveys and mapping are labor intensive, requiring teams to walk areas while carrying numerous tools, sensors and documentation equipment. By leveraging tablets and external sensors, we were able to reduce the necessary tools by 80%, streamlining the process and making it more efficient. Tablets equipped with mapping software allowed surveyors to document their findings digitally in real time, instead of relying on paper notes. External sensors connected to the tablets provided measurements and data that previously required separate tools. This mobile technology transformation:• Reduced physical tool requirements and worker fatigue• Increased accuracy by automatically capturing precise location data• Enabled real-time sharing of survey findings and maps with the wider team• Sped up the time to create survey reports and maps Overall, the mobile technology greatly enhanced the productivity, effectiveness and satisfaction of spatial survey teams by guiding the way through modern, connected devices - reducing the need for numerous traditional tools.
The project to build dedicated pages/sites for each project has been successfully completed, with the team implementing access control and a configurable folder structure that has made project document management more efficient. The team has also improved document sharing and collaboration on documents, and provided a document approval status dashboard, which has enhanced transparency and accountability.
Homelessness is a huge problem in Seattle, with over 10,000 people without shelter. The City’s Navigation Team and Police Department struggled to manage encampments and connect homeless citizens with services. Their manual processes were inefficient. InovarTech developed the “NavApp”, a Dynamics 365 solution to combat homelessness. With a design-led approach, we proposed a comprehensive technological solution.
