But he was not satisfied with the apps he had been using.We are tasked with designing an application like Slash, but with a few features and design changes he desired. The client wanted the following:App should be fun to use yet still do the basics of managing a task list.Not be like a bloated huge project management tool like Clickup and Asana.Transfer, organize and prioritize all tasks between all projects into one simple yet powerful to-do app.Today’s list to be tucked away as a vertical column that doesn’t take too much space 0n your screen.Summon task list anytime while working.Simplify onboarding and preference selection.A simple dashboard where users could create and manage multiple lists Here is what we did:Wireframe: Low fidelity concept designThe first step was to mockup the concept. We created a tower of today’s tasks that slides out from the left of your desktop and could simply be hidden with a click of a button or keyboard shortcut.Design SystemsOnce we got a go ahead on the concepts, we started creating a basic foundational design system with colors, typography, spacing etc… we also started creating a basic components library such as fields, buttons, labels etc…We were then able to use the design system to create a high-fidelity version of the application from the ground up within a few days.Prototype & DevelopmentWe built out the extremely high fidelity and tactile prototype! The feedback from the client was one of amazement.Because the app was built in such high fidelity and the prototype worked almost like the real thing, the development process was insanely fast (most of the app built in 3 months). Teespring (Spring, Inc.) is an American company that operates Spring, a social e-commerce platform that allows creators to create and sell customized merch. 2014 the company had raised $55 million in venture capital from Khosla Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz.Spring needed extra expertise adding to their existing product team to audit their design system and give them an extra hand for the redesign of their Creator Onboarding to be “Mobile First”. They also needed a brand-new complete design editor tooling system fully prototyped with a tactile experience.Onboarding & DiscoveryIt was clear from the discovery call that they needed 2 services to fast track their design process for their Mobile First Creator Onboarding Experience:1. An entire design system audit2. A high fidelity prototype for an inbuilt design tool for their merch products (without having to rely on 3rd party tools)The AuditAll of the auditing work was fully completed within the first week. This paved a clear path to start refreshing the design system and building a fresh high fidelity prototype with a fully tactile experience to bring to their stakeholders.The prototypeWith our design team’s experience building many SaaS design tool, we created a few rough wireframes, nailed down the basic flow and then went straight to high fidelity. As we cleared each step and function, we created necessary interactive components to avoid repeating prototypes.
